The day finally came for our fishing trip and Alan showed up with two Hobie kayaks. His kayak had tackle storage, rod holders, depth finders, hydrowave, and was basically set up like any bass boat. Mine was a slightly striped down version with rod holders and tackle storage. The first question I asked was will I get wet, which Alan laughed at and insured me I would be just fine. He then showed me how to use the unique MirageDrive which propels the kayak using your feet rather then with a traditional paddle. This allows you to move quickly and quietly and even cast while moving.
I now would highly recommend fishing from a kayak on any small waterbody, especially for kids. Take a look at the Hobie angler kayak series they would make an excellent Christmas present. Wink, Wink!
While Alan and his crew was at the lake we did shoot a short interview which can be found below that quickly discusses some ways to improve a fishery.
Please take the time to visit Alan's website, watch his videos, and if you like what you see follow him on the social media of your choice.
Thank you and happy fishing!
